United Stationers Selects Rivergate

Thanks to companies like United Stationers Supply Co., Rivergate Industrial District has been one of the most successful industrial submarkets in the Portland area this year. United Stationers recently entered into a long-term lease at Rivergate Corporate Center III for 195,510 square feet.

United Stationers is a leading North American wholesale distributor of business products, including office products, computer supplies, office furniture and facilities and maintenance supplies. It is a publicly traded company based in Deerfield, Ill. Through its 64 distribution centers, the company provides next to second-day delivery in the U.S. and Mexico.

“This is another strong example of a regional distribution use that has chosen excellent real estate at an excellent location,” said Steve Sieber, vice president of development management for Trammell Crow Co.

Located in Rivergate Industrial District, tenants Colgate-Palmolive Company and United Stationers will share this 573,420 square foot facility, which is currently at 60% occupancy.

Located in the heart of the Rivergate Industrial District near the Port’s container terminal, the 573,420-square-foot building the company selected is ideally situated and designed for import/export and distribution users. The property is owned by the Multi-Employer Property Trust. It is also home to a distribution facility for Colgate Palmolive Co., managed by third party logistics firm Jacobson Cos.

The Rivergate Corporate Center III building is now at 60 percent occupancy. It is the first of six buildings in a 2.4-million-square-foot project spanning 113 acres. The property is located within a designated Foreign Trade Zone, as well as the Portland Enterprise Zone, which offers property tax abatement for qualified companies. The building has also earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
