Hear about the region’s new export strategy, featuring Peter Perez, deputy assistant of the U.S. International Trade Administration, at a special Portland Business Alliance breakfast forum on Feb. 15. The presentation and roundtable discussions that follow will include local, regional and federal leaders, including the Port’s own executive director, Bill Wyatt.
With more than $22 billion in exports annually, the Portland-metro region is considered an export “powerhouse.” The Brookings Institution of Washington D.C. named Portland the second fastest growing export region in the nation. And because of this, Portland has been selected to be one of four metro areas in the country to participate in the Brookings’ Metropolitan Export Initiative.
The Greater Portland’s Metro Export Initiative was developed after a year-long study with the Brookings Institution to improve access to global markets, increase export economy and cultivate local jobs.
Doors open at 7:15 a.m., and breakfast will be served at approximately 7:30 a.m. The program will start promptly at 7:45 a.m. A roundtable discussion will immediately follow from 9 to 10:30 a.m., but you must register to participate.
