Each year, during the third full week in May, World Trade Week highlights the vital connection between the global economy and the prosperity of the country. That connection is especially vital in our region, where 1 in 13 jobs is connected to maritime and aviation activity.
During May 14 to 18, Business Oregon and local partners are hosting an International Road Show in Portland, Bend, Eugene, and Medford. The weeklong program is aimed at helping Oregon companies tap into foreign markets and learn about assistance available to diversify exports.
Oregon’s small– and medium–sized enterprises exporting goods and services will learn about resources available from state, local and federal government agencies. Discussions and activities include:
- Meetings and/or presentations on the European Union, Greater China (including PRC, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), Japan, and Korea
- Developing and expanding products and services in major overseas markets; opportunities for sales and distribution
- Meetings with government representatives and state trade officials
Roadtrip events are open to the public, but RSVP is required. Learn more about World Trade Week events at the link below.
